OUPV (Six-Pak) Requirements:
•360 Days of on the water experience. 1 day is achieved by a minimum of 4 hours under way and only one day can be logged for every calendar day.
•Near Coastal Applicants, 90 of the 360 days must be outside the "boundary" line
•90 of the 360 days must be within the last three years for recency of sea time.
•All experience must be obtained after the age of 16
•50% of the experience must be obtained after the age of 16 As well as the above sea-time requirements, all candidates for an OUPV license must fulfill the following general requirements.
•18 Years of age
•360 Days of sea-time
•90 (of the 360) days of sea-time within the last three years
Physical Examination by a qualified Doctor with experience in mariner's physical exam.
•A DOT 5 Panel testing for Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine, and Amphetamines drug
•A negative result (if the results is a Negative Dilute) it will NOT be accepted.
•A valid CPR/First-Aid certification
•Third Coast Captains course completion certificate
Master Inland:360 Days of sea-time since the age of 16, 90 of the 360 days must be within the last 3 years, 50% of the 360 days must have been acquired since the age of 16.
Master Inland/OUPV: Are the same requirements.  360 Days of sea-time since the age of 16, 90 of the 360 days must be within the last 3 years, and 50% of the 360 days must have been acquired since the age of 16.
 
Master Inland:360 Days of sea-time since the age of 16, 90 of the 360 days must be within the last 3 years, 180 of the 360 days must be out side the boundary lines, and50% of the 360 days must be acquired since the age of 16.
Master Near Coastal (To 200 NM offshore): 720 Days of sea-time since the age of 16, 90 of the 720 days must be within the last 3 years, 360 of the 720 days must be outside the boundary lines, and 50% of the 720 days must have been acquired since the age of 16. As well as the above sea-time requirements, all candidates for a Master100GT license must fulfill the following general requirements:
•19 Years of age
•Physical exam
•Drug test
•US Citizenship
•A valid CPR/First-Aidcertification
•Third Coast Captains course completion certificate
